It was not a
usual day at Eshwar Nagar. The members of Executive Committee and other
supporters gathered near the residence of Srinivas Rao on 12th April
2017 at 7.30 am. The purpose is to kick start and streamline the garbage
collection at Eshwar Nagar. Sri Mahesh Thakur, Local Counsellor donated a truck
to Udupi Municipality to be used exclusively for the collection of garbage at
Eshwar Nagar and Vivikanda Nagar. The truck had loudspeakers and two attendants,
apart from the driver. The coming of truck at 7.30 am everyday with music and
announcements to collect the garbage from every house will pave the way for
clean Eshwar Nagar Campaign.
Dr. Gowri,
the President of Eshwar Nagar Welfare Association inaugurated the campaign by
handing over the garbage to the truck. Madam appreciated Sri Thakur for the
commitment and fulfilling the compelling demand of the residents of Eshwar
Nagar and thanked him profusely. Dr. Yagnesh Sharma, Sri HNS Rao, Sri Rajavarma
Ariga, Sri Nagaraj, Dr. Arun Maiya, Sri Harish Kalmadi, Dr. Sureshramana Mayya,
Sri Srinivasa Rao and other members of the Welfare Association were present on
this occasion. Sri Mahesh Thakur explained the mode of operandi of this new
method of collecting garbage and explained in detail the steps to be taken by
the residents to make this system effective.
