Mahatma Gandhi, the pioneer of India's freedom struggle, and Lal Bahadur Shastri, the second Prime Minister of India, were born on October 2. They coined popular national slogans that resonated with masses. Eshwar Nagar Residents Welfare Association, Sneha Sangama and all the like-minded associations of Eshwar Nagar celebrated 150th Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration and 115 Birth Day of Pandith Lal Bahadur Shastri on October 2, 2019 at Eshwar Nagar. Early morning, at 7 am, the public of Eswhar Nagar assembled at Big Boss Circle and started moving towards Auto Point Circle of Eshwar Nagar. At Auto Point, the small function culminated with offering flowers to Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri and Mr Dinesh Hegde Athradi, President of Sahakara Bharathi spoke on the values inculcated by Gandhi and Shastri and he appealed to emulate the rare qualities of Gandhiji and Shastri. Later, the Dr Sureshramana Mayya, the President of Eshwar Nagar Residents Association also spoke on virtues imparted by Gandhiji. Harish G Kalmadi of Sneha Sangama proposed a vote of thanks. Mr Manjnatha the Counsellor and artist Srinath Manipal made all the logistic arrangements. He also welcomed the participants for the beautiful gesture to assemble in large numbers.
