Executive Committee Meeting was
held at the residence of Dr. Sureshramana Mayya, President of Eshwar Nagar
Residents' Welfare Association on 3rd November 2019. The following members of
the Executive Committee attended the meeting.

Dr.
Sureshramana Mayya, the President of the Association welcomed the members and
initiated the discussion by thanking the members for their support in
conducting the AGM, keeping in view of traditions of the Association. He also
thanked Shashikala Rajavarma Madam and all other women members for the
excellent Dandiya Performance. He also thanked Sri Srinivasa Poojari for
assuring to make good the deficiency of expenditure of dinner during the AGM.
He reiterated that the objective of the association is to assure the welfare of
the members of the association. The following agenda points were discussed at
the meeting.
1.
Streetlights – not
fulfilling the purpose, despite lodging the complaints online, the desired
results are not to be seen within the time span. He tried to draw light the
method of giving complaints online, he also assured that the link for lodging
complaints through an online portal will be circulated to all the members through
the Whatsup group. He also requested the area representatives to take up the
responsibility of complaining to higher authorities. Dr. Vinayak Shenoy suggested reducing the power of streetlights, for which many EC Members expressed the
idea that the main agenda point is to improve the effectiveness of bulbs. Dr.
Yagnesh Sharma expressed his opinion that the problem is due to MESCOM. That is
why switching problem. Sri Manjunath, Counsellor clarified that Municipality
members are not effective, there has been an acute shortage of spares, the
position will improve within coming months. Ultimately, the members suggested
that a petition must be submitted to Municipality, if necessary, to Deputy
Commissioner narrating the hardships caused to people such as the menace of snakes,
chain snatching. Members such as Prof. HKV Rao, Sri HNS Rao, Dr. Gowri
suggested to represent the issue to Commissioner first, if not redressed within
a reasonable time, the matter must be represented to Deputy Commissioner. Mr.
Manjunath, the Counsellor suggested meeting Deputy Commissioner and local MLA,
that will solve the problem. At least, the Association can ascertain the
problems of concerned authorities. It was decided to pass a resolution to
represent the issue within a week.
2.
Rain
Water Channels – Members felt that this issue has already solved, at the
same, the treasurer Dr. Raghavendra Kamath complained about leakage at the
third main, the members told him to find out the reasons, the Counsellor has
been requested to find out the reason for it.
3.
Increasing of Membership Fees – diversity of
opinions have been raised felt to increase membership fees to Rs. 500, others
felt to increase the membership to 600, the Secretary of the Association expressed
the opinion that it can be increased to Rs.500 for the time being, in the next
year we can think of rising it to Rs. 600. Many senior members expressed the opinion
that, unless it is being discussed in the EC Meeting, we cannot increase, to
increase early, we have to call Special AGM. Hence, it is decided to raise membership
fees to Rs. 600. The Treasurer also
expressed the concern to collecting the membership dues, the senior members
requested the Treasurer to prepare a list, the area wise representatives have
been requested to collect the membership dues. Area-wise representatives are
also assigned the responsibility of inducting new members. It was decided to
pass a resolution about it. Prof. HKV Rao suggested holding Special AGM for
increasing the membership fees after adhering the legal formalities. I was
decided to pass a resolution for it.
4.
Approval of Expenditure of Dandiya
Programme – it was decided to ratify and approve the payments of
Danidy Dance, Sri Ariga was requested to exert his influence to reduce the payments
of Vashnavi Hall and petty expenditure payable of Nagaraj K, the Secretary of
the Association.
5.
Heath Camp – It was also
decided to conduct the Health Camp and Dental Camp for the benefit of members of
the Eshwar Nagar Residents Welfare Association. It was also decided to conduct
one Health Camp and another Dental Camp. It was decided to join with Rotary
Club and conduct Project Positive Health. The responsibility of finalization of
date was entrusted to Sri Ariga and Dr. Gowri. It was also decided to conduct Dental
Camp in consultation with Dr. Srikanth of Manipal College of Dental Sciences,
and our EC Member.
6.
Sign Boards – it was also
requested with our local Counsellor to provide signboards to all the roads. Sri
Manjunath accepted the responsibility of reconstruction of sign boards. It was
also suggested to set up a big sign board at Bus Stand with the help of sponsors.
Our Counselor agreed to rewrite all the
sign boards. But Counsellor expressed the concern that Municipal Body is not formed,
hence, we can take up that issue with DC with other issues.
7.
Formation of Committees –
a.
News
Letter Committee, the President expressed the changing technology, he
reiterated that hard copy of the newsletter is not required, the newspaper
committee constituted Dr. Sureshramana Mayya, President, Sri Nagaraj K,
Secretary, Mr. Prof. H K V Rao, Dr. Gowri and Mr. Darshan Patil
b.
Area Representative Committee for all
issues, such as a collection of dues, searching and identifying of
new members. Treasurer may handover the list of members and dues collected to
area representatives.

Rao, Sri Manjunath, Sri Rajavarma Ariga, it is being suggested to have picnic
including EC and Non-EC Members. This committee will work out the mode of the operand
of organisation of exertion to have more network and cohesiveness.
e.
Cultural Committee (Recreation
Committee) – Ms. Shashikala Madam has been assigned the
responsibility of including any person as members of this committee.
f.
Media Committee – Mr.
Manjunath and Dr. Shubha HNS Rao
g.
Sri Manunath, the Councilor also
announce the members to use the meeting hall of Bharathiya Vikas Trust at free
of cost, in case of necessity, the members may contact him.
Any Other Matter
1.
Prof. HKV Rao suggested to include
female members as members of Association, and they can pay membership fees
also. They are also going to become members of EC. There should not be any discrimination
between male and female members. Majority members supported this move. They
have got a feeling of equality. It is suggested to pass a resolution. Any
family can have more than one. They can become office bearers, treasurer and
secretary of the Association.
2.
One of the members suggested having a
certificate of membership, which was considered not necessary at present.
3.
The President suggested having Post
Box near Eshwar Nagar, members suggested the President to write to the
authorities.
4.
Dr. Gowri suggested our EC Member and Councilor write all the residents of Eshwar Nagar to become a member so that we can
increase the membership base of the Association. He agreed to do that.
5.
To avoid the presence of unregistered
persons attending the dinner at AGM Meeting, the practice of issuing coupons
may be considered in future.
6.
The President also expressed the
concern of one of the residents of Association about the menace of Crackers at
the Deepavali and late-night opening of Cracker shops.
7.
The Treasurer also presented the financial
condition of Association. After meeting the expenditure of AGM and other
related expenditure, right now the balance is Rs. 30,000. After the proposed
expenditure, the balance may come down to Rs. 25,000, the situation is not
healthy. Hence, efforts to be taken to collect membership dues. The Treasure
informed that though the Association consists of 100 members, the membership
dues collected from 42 members. Many members attend for dinner, but they do not
pay membership dues.

It is also decided to request Municipal
Authorities to take measures for fogging to control mosquitos at Eshwar Nagar
9.
It also decided to request bus service
in the dairy road.
10. Sri Manjunath
appealed the office bearers to support the cause of developing Government Land
near Dairy, so that it may be used for the common purpose. As the Dairy is
going to be shifted to other places, it is appropriate to request the proper use
of that land for a common purpose. Now, under changed circumstances, dairy may not
show considerable interest. Sri Manjunath requested Shri Harish G Kalmadi to hand
over the letter given by DC during last year.
11. It was also
discussed the digging of separate borewell, the water problem, using of
the existing source of water, Varahi II Project, etc.
12. The members
discussed the menace of dogs, the measures to be taken to overcome this menace.
Secretary of
the Association, Mr. Nagaraj K thanked Mrs. Mayya and Mr. Mayya for the hospitality
and also thanked senior Advisory Committee Members – Dr. Gowri, Sri HNS Rao,
Prof. HKV Rao, Sri Srinivas Rao and Dr. Arun Maiya and all the EC Members for devoting
their prime time for the betterment of Eshwar Nagar. He also sought any voluntary
hosting of next EC Meeting, for which there are many takers, ultimately, it was
agreed to hold EC Meeting during the mid-December at the residence of Prof. HNS
Rao.
