Proceedings:
Welcome
and Review of Previous Minutes:
The meeting commenced with a warm welcome by the Secretary of the Association,
Sri Vinayak Shenoy, who expressed gratitude to all Executive Members in
attendance. He then reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting held on
February 5, 2024, highlighting the key discussions and decisions taken, such as
membership development, financial position, and various community initiatives.
Agenda
Presentation: Sri
Vinayak Shenoy presented the agenda for the meeting, which included discussions
on membership development, financial status, community infrastructure projects,
and responses to members' queries. The agenda also covered the need for a
health camp, issues with public amenities, and a proposed family picnic.
Community
Infrastructure and Member Demands:
A notable decision from the previous meeting was to address specific member
demands related to bus shelters, drainage systems, and children's parks. An EC
Member Team, led by Sri Rajavarma Ariga and including Sri Vinayak Shenoy, Sri
Ganapathi Kamath, Sri Srinivas Rao, and Dr. Yajnesh Sharma, visited the
Commissioner to submit a memorandum. The Commissioner responded positively, and
discussions for further action are underway.
Health
Camp Initiative:
Sri Rajavarma Ariga took charge of the health camp discussion. Dr. Arun Maiya
and Sri Harish G. Kalmadi organized the camp, benefiting approximately ninety
residents. Due to the efforts of Sri Ganesh Kamath, Sri Harish G. Kalmadi, and
Sri Nagaraj, the camp received good publicity. Sri Harish Kalmadi was presented
with a flower as a token of appreciation. Plans for distributing free
spectacles as a follow-up to the camp were also discussed, pending the
finalization of dates.
Ownership
Verification and Public Park Development: Dr. Vinayak Shenoy emphasized the importance of
verifying property ownership using technology such as the Bhoomi App. Sri
Harish G. Kalmadi suggested that the responsibility be given to the Counsellor.
Dr. Shyam Sunder Bhat offered to assist with ownership verification.
Regarding
the Public Park, it was revealed that the property is privately owned by
Manipal Trust, contrary to initial hopes. The Association will now request MAHE
to consider constructing a Children's Park on the property.
Upcoming
Events and Membership Drive:
Plans for a Family Picnic during the October holidays were discussed. In case
of insufficient participation, it was agreed to extend the invitation to all EC
members and their families. The idea of organizing an additional cultural
evening was also considered.
The
inclusion of spouses and children as members of the Association was debated,
with Dr. Shenoy proposing the inclusion of independent working members to
strengthen the social and financial aspects of the Association.
Water
Meter and Voltage Fluctuation Issues:
Members raised concerns about water meters and voltage fluctuations. Dr. Sharma
suggested installing an air valve in the water pipe to address the issue,
stressing the need to close the valve after water is received to ensure its
effectiveness.
Conclusion: The meeting concluded with the
singing of the National Anthem and a photo session, symbolizing unity and
patriotism. The Treasurer, Sri Ganapathi Kamath, hosted a high tea and
expressed his gratitude to Mrs. Rajavarma Ariga and all participants for their
contributions to the successful meeting.
Vote
of Thanks: Sri Ganapathi Kamath, the Treasurer, thanked all members for their
active participation.
