Notice of Executive Committee Meeting

This is to inform to all the members of  Executive Committee of Eshwar Nagar Residents Association that the Executive Committee Meeting will be held on 19-10-2013 at  the residence of Prof. H. K. V. Rao at 7 pm. All the members are requested to be present in time.

Minutes of Executive Committee Meeting held on 19th  October 2013 at the residence of Prof. H. K. V Rao

The meeting started at 7.00 pm
1.      Present

3.      Greetings
Prof. H.K.V Rao welcomed the members of Executive Committee.
4.      Briefing on the visit of local MLA
Prof. HKV Rao, the President of the Association briefed the members of the EC on the recent visit of local MLA on 6th October, 2013.  The meeting was arranged by the party workers of Eshwar Nagar. The programme was arranged in Vaishnavi Hall at Eshwar Nagar. The Executive Members of Eshwar Nagar Residents Welfare Association attended the meeting in sizable numbers to exert pressure on the developmental activities of Eshwar Nagar.
Apart from a large number of local residents, the following Executive Committee Members of the Eshwar Nagar Residents Association were present on this occasion.
Prof. HKV Rao, President of the Association, Dr. H.J. Gowri, Vice-President of the Association, Dr. Sureshramana Mayya, Secretary of the Association, Sri. K. Prashanth Hegde, Treasurer, Sri. H. N. S. Rao, Member, C.A. Dinakar Shetty, Member, Prof. (Col.) M. Madhav Shanbhag, Member, Sri K. Srinivasa Rao, former President of the Association, Sri B. Rajavarma Ariga, Member, Prof. Dr. Shiva Prasad H. C., Member, Dr. Virupaksha Deveramane, Member, Sri Srinivas Poojary, Member. 
Prof. H. K. V. Rao explained in detail the contents of the representation presented to the MLA. Sri Pramod Madhwaraj, our MLA promised to take up the issue as early as possible. He also assured corruption free endeavors for the development of Udupi.
5.      Briefing on the Meeting with Local Councillor
Prof. H. K. V Rao also briefed the meeting of the Core Committee with the Sri Mahesh Thakur, the Local Councillor of Eshwar Nagar. It is a matter of concern to the Residents Association that funds were sanctioned to some works, but not taken up. The Core Committee requested the Councillor to speed up the work relating to Bus Bay, Garden, Doubling of Road, fixing of sign boards, etc. The Councillor assured to complete the work as early as possible.
6.      Formation of Committees
To improve the effectiveness of the association, formation of the following committees were announced in the Executive Committee Meeting.
1.  Finance Committee: Chairman: Sri Prashanth Hegde, Sri Rajavarma Ariga, Member, Sri U Sridhar, Member.
2.    Health Committee: Chairman: Dr. Virupaksha Devaramane, Dr. Shamsunder Bhat, Member, Dr. Arun Maiya, Member
3.      Newsletter Committee: Chairman: Dr. N.Y Sharma, Dr. Shivaprakash, Member
4.  Excursion Committee: Chairman: Dr. Shivaprasad, Dr. N. Y Sharma, Member, Sri Harish Kalmadi, Member
5.    Vanamahotsava Committee: Chairman: Sri Srinivas Rao, Dr. NV Sharma, Member, Sri Harish Kalmadi, Member.
6.      Cultural Committee: Chairman: Dr. H. J. Gowri.
7.      Excursion – A brainstorming session was conducted and after a detailed discussion about the various places like Abby Falls, Murudeshwara, Pilikula, Koodle Thirtha, the members unanimously agreed to have one day excursion to Hanuman Gundi.  It is also proposed to visit Gomateshwara of Karkal, Anantha Shayana Temple, Chaturmukha Basadi on the way to Hanuman Gundi. Initially, it was decided to limit the members to 48 (One Bus) on first come first basis. The Excursion Committee was entrusted with the responsibility of finalizing the date, giving information to members, amount to be collected, tiffin arrangements, route, etc. They were also requested to upload all the information to Facebook Account of the Association and Blog. It was also decided to give this information to all the members.
8.      Other Matters
The other matters discussed included the following:
1.      Amendments to the name of the Association
2.      Complaints to Municipality relating to cutting of trees
3.      Maintaining Minutes Book of the Association
4.       Possibility of enhancing the membership through life members – decided to continue the existing arrangements as inclusion of life members may not be financially viable.
5.      Possibility of bringing Quarterly Newsletter instead of Half Yearly Newsletter, abandoning the colour Newsletter and having black and white newsletter.
6.      Arrangements of Health related programmes.
7.      Requesting our MP Jayaprakash Hegde to visit the Association
8.      Visiting the Municipality and appraising the Development of Eshwar Nagar with the new Commissioner.
9.      Garbage related issues
10.  Drainage related issues.
11.  Widening of Manipal – Parkala Road
12.  Development of Garden in front of Dairy
9.      Vote of Thanks – 

Dr. Sureshramana Mayya, the Secretary of the Association thanked the members for actively participating in the deliberations. He also thanked Mrs. H. K. V Rao for the delicious high tea provided by her not only to the members of the Executive Committee.
