Mr Dinakar Shetty (President) welcomed all present.

Nayak, President, UCMC, Udupi, did not occur as she was busy with some family-related
emergencies. A subsequent meeting date could not be obtained from her. On
account of the prevailing Covid situation and as recommended to our councillor
Mr. Manjunath, efforts were not put into getting a new appointment from her.
b. However, our councillor has reported that Mrs Sumithra Nayak has committed
to getting the Road Signboard work done and is waiting for the fund released by
the concerned Dept.
c. However, the formal request letter intended to be given to her
during the above-referred meeting was officially delivered to the UCMC, Udupi and
a copy to D.C., Udupi office.
d. On receipt of the letter copy, D.C. has suitably instructed the
Commissioner, UCMC, to report progress on the matter; the copy of his letter
has been received by President, ERWA and communicated to all E.C. Members.
e. Clean India Program was carried out on the 7th Cross, under
the initiative of Dr. Vidya Saraswathi
on 23rd Jan.2022, Past President of ERWA Prof. Yajnesh Sharma, some
P.G students residing at Taj Residency, other residents of the nearby houses also
participated.
f. Similarly, residents on other roads volunteered during the last
two months to clean up empty plots, cutting off unsafe tree branches and
shifting the wood, coconut leaves, shells and peals from their areas in a
collective manner to the nearest crematorium [at Indrali], thus helping the
poor on the one hand and cleaning up the colony also. The In charge of the
crematorium and the supervisor to our colony for Solid waste collection Mr
Prashanth arranged for vehicles and loaders to collect the same from different
parts of our colony under the direction of our councillor Mr Manjunath on 16th
Feb.2022.
g. During the last two months, MESCOM, Manipal coordinated by our E.C.
members and other respective area members took up tree branch trimmings [which
were unsafe and touching the power lines], thus making our colony safer.
h. During the last two months, UCMC, through its contractor, replaced
21 older street tube lights in our ward with the new and brighter power-efficient
LED lights duly coordinated by our councillor Mr Manjunath and our E.C.
members. Particular mention is of the Narasinge temple road, which was dimly
lit up and was a garbage dumping yard black spot of our colony.
i. The menace of dogs was controlled due to the initiative of some of
the apartment owners by providing efficient garbage containers and educating
the residents of the apartments. Particular mention is of Sri Sai Apartments on
the 2nd main, which was an eyesore on the topic for more than a year
now.
j. Our E.C. members are continuously engaged in educating the
residents in helping them to reduce both the Dry and Wet waste generated in the
respective households and to promote compost making in the respective compounds
[where possible] and provide necessary technical support, which acts in the
days to come is focussed onto reducing the outward movement of wet waste to the
municipal waste collection system. To cite an example, Col. Nagesh, on the 6th
B crossroad, has switched over to the Drum composting method since Feb and is
quite happy with the system.
k. On a similar ground, a heap composting system in empty plots adjacent
to thickly populated areas is being planned, taking approval from the
respective plot owners. One such attempt is now being pursued on the 18th
Cross of the colony.
l. Residents have also been
motivated during the last one month to focus on controlling Hazardous Waste
such as Bottles/Broken glass in the colony under the "GLASS FREE ESHWAR
NAGAR" program, wherein residents in the respective areas are volunteering
to clear up glass bottles and broken glass in and around their houses/plots
thus making the colony safer. The E.C. members are giving necessary technical
support.
The matter relating to regular cleaning and upkeeping of vacant plots in the colony by the respective plot owners and providing pedestrian walkway on both sides of the main Diary Road from Big Boss junction up to the Narasinge temple for safety to pedestrians [Agenda point no. 4 and 5]:

with a couple of days in this regard.

dues to date. Initially, members who have kept dues pending for one or two
years will be approached and regarding members with more than 3 to 4 years
pending dues, the same will be put up to the committee consisting of President,
V.P., Secretary, Treasurer and our advisor Mr K. Srinivas Rao, who will
separately meet and decide on the future course of action.
c. It was suggested that such members be initially contacted over the
phone and visit their houses to pursue them to clear the dues.
d. It was clarified to the members that the annual fee applicable is

the respective financial year.
e. In case substantial dues are recovered, it was suggested that at
least a sum of Rs. 50,000/- be kept in the bank as F.D. in the association's
name, after setting aside funds for the Corona period waiver of fees.
f. The matter related to possibly waiving the membership fee for the
corona period, which came up for discussion, has been put up for suitable
discussion and decision to the next E.C. meeting.
6.
The matter
related to Membership drive:
a. The new membership drive will be taken up parallel with the
pending fee collection program. New residents will be identified in the colony
and will be pursued to join the association. It is expected that this activity
will be completed before the next E.C. meeting.
b. It was suggested to restart our Newsletter [In bilingual mode-
English and Kannada] at least once in 6 months. It was suggested that Prof.

that the newsletter would be very useful to give publicity to the association's
various activities and motivate new membership.

Any
other matter with the permission of the chair:

not participate in the municipal waste collection system by paying Rs. 50/-. He
