Meeting
Overview: The
meeting was organized thanks to the efforts of Councillor Sri Manjunath, who
facilitated a platform for Udupi Municipal Councillor, District Officials, and
the residents of Eshwar Nagar. This platform provided an opportunity for the
residents to voice their concerns and grievances regarding the new pipeline
installations and meter connections.

Announcements and Assurances:
It
was clarified that new pipe connections and meters would be installed in
all houses free of charge shortly.

pending requests for new connections, residents were advised to contact

Many
members raised concerns about the significant increase in their recent
water bills. The Commissioner assured to review cases with an exorbitant
increase in bills and requested that such cases be brought to his
attention.
Residents
experiencing an unreasonable hike in their water bills were advised to
approach the Commissioner directly or through Councilor Manjunath for
resolution.

Opening Remarks and Welcome:
Mr. Rajavarma Ariga commenced the meeting
by extending a warm welcome to all participants. He expressed gratitude
towards Dr. Vinayak Shenoy for facilitating the meeting at his residence,

Formation of Follow-Up Committee:
To address the grievances effectively, a
Follow-Up Committee was established, chaired by Mr. Manjunath, with Mr.
Rajkumar and Dr. Sharma as members. The committee is tasked with
overseeing the resolution of ongoing issues and reporting progress to the
EC.
Discussion on Dairy Road Works:
The committee deliberated on the Dairy
Road project, noting the need for direct action with the Municipality.
Concerns were raised about the delayed implementation of previously
sanctioned funds. Members agreed that a proactive approach, similar to
the successful Shivapady Temple Road project, was necessary.
Sign Road Painting Issue:
Srinivas Rao brought attention to the
inadequately painted sign roads, highlighting the safety concerns and
aesthetic impact on the community.
Varahi Meter Replacement:
The delayed replacement of Varahi meters
was discussed. Dr. Arun Maiya provided an update, confirming replacements
had begun following interventions with relevant authorities.
Park Development Initiative:
The long-standing issue of park
development was revisited. The committee urged the President and
Secretary to expedite action, with Dr. Shenoy agreeing to liaise with the
local MLA for support.
Teachers Constituency Election Support:
The upcoming Teachers Constituency
election was a focal point, with members agreeing to support former MLA
Shri Raghupathi Bhat. Mr. Kalmadi highlighted the unique situation of
dual constituency voting rights for some members.
Bus Stop Relocation:
The relocation of the bus stop from
Eshwar Nagar to near Big Boss was discussed. The committee resolved to
engage with the Police Department for a solution.
Glass Collection and Disposal:
Dr. Vinayak Shenoy raised concerns about
the non-collection of glass items and the related littering issue. The
committee decided to lodge a formal complaint with the garbage collection
agency.
Health Camp Organization:
Plans for a health camp were discussed,
with a decision to schedule it in December at TMA Pai Polytechnic,
considering the local Convocation Function in November.
Proposal for One Day Picnic:
Several destinations were proposed for a
one-day picnic, including Karinje Betta, Kundadri Betta, Yana, and St.
Mary’s Island. The need for pre-visits for logistical arrangements was
emphasized.
Infrastructure and Public Services Update:
Mr. Manjunath provided comprehensive
updates on various infrastructure initiatives, including street lighting,
grass cutting, bus stand development, and child-friendly parking near the
Dairy.
Dust Bin Policy:
The government's decision not to allow
dustbins in public spaces was discussed, with suggestions for alternative
waste management strategies.

meeting by thanking members for their dedication and time. The Executive

A cleanliness campaign took place in Eshwar Nagar, under the leadership of the Eshwar Nagar Residents Welfare Association, in cooperation with the Udupi Municipality Council, on 28th September 2023. The Commissioner of the MuncipalityCouncil, Sri Rayappa, inaugurated the program, emphasizing the importance of environmental cleanliness for health and wellness and calling to make the city free from plastic. Local residents were able to make this possible with their cooperation and assistance. Various efforts and plans conducted by the Eshwar Nagar Residents Welfare Association were praised.
Rajavarma Ariga, the President of the Eshwar Nagar Residents Welfare Association, spoke about the social service activities of the association and thanked Manjunath, Councillor of Eshwar Nagar and member of the Municipality Council, for their efforts to resolve the deficiencies in Eshwar Nagar. The Secretary, Dr. Vinayak Shenai, welcomed and thanked everyone. Sri Rayappa, who is known for his efficiency and discipline, and currently serves as the Commissioner of the Udupi City Council, was considered a fortune for them.
The program was attended by several dignitaries and members of the Eshwar Nagar Residents Welfare Association, including senior health inspector Mrs. Shashirekha from Udupi Muncipality Council, Vice-President Dr. Shyamasundar Bhat, Treasurer Ganapati Kamat, members CA Dinakar Shetty, Mr. Nagaraj, Dr. Arun Mayya, Sri Srinivas Rao, Prof. Balachandra, Colonel Madhav Shanbhagh, Dr. Yagnesh Sharma, Mr. Sheikh Noorulla, Rajkumar Maskarin, Dr. Raghu Chandrashekhar, Eshwar Nagar Block President Girish, cleanliness route in-charge Prashant from Udupi Muncipality Council, and civic workers.
Afterwards, everyone, along with civic workers, collected plastic waste around Eshwar Nagar and carried out environmental cleanliness work until 2 PM in the afternoon.

(AGM) of the Eshwar Nagar Residents' Association on September 9, 2023, marked a
significant day for the residents of Eshwar Nagar. The event encompassed a
diverse range of activities and pivotal announcements that underscored the
community's commitment to progress and collaboration.
Meeting Highlights:

The event commenced with a solemn invocation by Mrs. Sumithra H Kalmadi, wife
of the Executive Committee Member, Sri Harish J Kalmadi. Her heartfelt prayers
set the tone for the day's proceedings.

of Silence: As a tribute to the late Sri Late Srinivas Rao, a beloved
member of our association, a minute of silence was observed, allowing attendees
to pay their respects and reflect on his contributions.
3.Notice
Reading: The meeting began formally with Sri Prakash Rao, Secretary of the
association, reading the notice of the meeting, ensuring that all procedural
aspects were meticulously documented.
4.Welcome
Address: President C A Dinkar Shetty extended a warm welcome to all
attendees. In his address, he eloquently recounted the association's
achievements and aspirations over the preceding two years. He expressed
heartfelt gratitude to all office bearers for their unwavering support and
dedication to the community's welfare.
5.Annual
Reports: Sri Nagaraj K, the association's Treasurer, presented the annual
reports, providing an insightful overview of the association's financial
performance and activities. These reports were unanimously approved by the
members, signifying their trust and confidence in the management.
6.Election
Announcement: Prof. Yajnesh Sharma N, Former President and Election Officer
of the Association, presided over the election proceedings. He announced the
names of the newly elected office bearers, who would lead the association
forward. The newly elected office bearers included President Sri Rajavarma
Ariga, Vice President Dr. Shamsundar Bhat, Secretary Dr. Vinayaka Shenoy, and
Joint Secretary Dr. Raghu Chandrashekar.

Executive Committee Members: A list of elected Executive Committee Members
was presented, comprising individuals who had submitted nominations within the
stipulated timeframe. These members would form the backbone of the
association's leadership.

Invitee: The AGM acknowledged the presence of a special invitee, Councillor
Sri Manjunath Manipal, whose insights and engagement were valued by the
association.
9.Senior
Advisors: The association expressed its appreciation for its Senior
Advisors, including Dr. Gowri, Prof. HKV Rao, Sri Srinivas Rao, and Sri
Srinivas Poojari, whose wisdom and guidance have been instrumental in the
association's journey.
10.Introduction
of New Office Bearers: Dr. Arun G Maiya invited the newly elected office
bearers to the dais for a symbolic and heartfelt transition, which culminated
in a group photograph capturing both incoming and outgoing leadership.
11.By-Law
Amendments: Dr. Sureshramana Mayya, an Executive Committee Member and
former President, introduced proposed amendments to the association's by-laws.
These amendments aimed to refine the operational framework and address evolving
needs. Members engaged in thoughtful deliberation, and all proposed amendments
were duly approved by the General Body. Notably, the amendments included:
a)Amendment 1: Adjusting the Members' Annual
Subscription fees from Rs. 400.00 (Rupees Four Hundred Only) per year per
registered member to Rs. 500.00 (Rupees Five Hundred Only) per year per
registered member.
b)Amendment 2: Revision of the Registration of
Additional Member of a family clause to state that any adult family member
(spouse and/or children), regardless of gender, who has reached the age of 18,
is eligible to become a registered member of ERWA. This is in addition to the
already registered member, and they will possess individual voting rights
during the Association's Annual General Meeting.

of Incoming Office Bearers: Dr. Balachandra Muniyal introduced the incoming
President Sri Rajavarma Ariga, Vice President Sri Shamsunder Bhat, Secretary
Dr. Vinayak Shenoy, Joint Secretary Dr. Raghu Chandra Shekar, and Treasurer Sri
Ganapathi Kamath, outlining their qualifications and dedication to the
community's welfare.

Acceptance Speech: Sri Rajavarma Ariga delivered an inspiring acceptance
speech, articulating his vision and plans of action. He outlined strategies to
enhance community engagement and streamline processes, highlighting the

of Achievers: Dr. Virupaksha Devarmane introduced and felicitated community

of Thanks: Dr. Vinayak Shenoy, the Secretary of the Association, expressed
profound gratitude to all individuals who contributed to the association's
success. He recognized the efforts of members, office bearers, advisors, and
the wider community. The AGM concluded with a harmonious rendition of the
National Anthem, symbolizing unity and commitment.
