Minutes:
- The meeting was opened by CA Dinakar Shetty (President), who welcomed all attendees.
- The
Secretary read out the minutes of the ECM held on 26-02-2022 and the same
was approved.
- The
Secretary reported on the activities held after the last ECM:
- Regular
street tube light maintenance was carried out by the contractor, however,
no new LED lights were installed.
- The
dog menace in the colony was controlled due to the self-initiative of
residents in properly sorting and containing dry waste, except for Taj
Residency Apartments.
- Residents
volunteered to clean up empty plots, cut off unsafe tree branches, and
shift wood, coconut leaves, shells, and peals to the nearest crematorium,
helping the poor and cleaning up the colony.
- Two
new residents installed drum composters with the help of EC members as
part of the focus on reducing wet waste and promoting composting. A pipe
composting system will be promoted in the next two months.
- The
"Glass Free Eshwar Nagar" program continues with residents
clearing up glass bottles and broken glass in and around their
houses/plots.
- The
President and Secretary met with Mr. Mahesh Thakur regarding roadside
signboards, empty plot nuisance, and other matters presented in a letter
dated 03-03-2022. Mr. Thakur promised to repaint the 24 signboards within
a week and install 15 new boards within 15 days. The matter will be
followed up.
- The
Treasurer reported on pending dues collection from existing members and
discrepancies in payment documentation during the COVID period, which will
be set right through verification. The old dues collection and new
membership drive will be speeded up next month along with a new membership
drive. Two new members have joined ERWA, and 9 more names were noted for
follow-up in the drive.
- It
was decided that tenants of houses and apartments can be admitted to be
members with EC approval.
- Dr.
Arun Maiya suggested fitting convex mirrors in narrow turnings for safety
and reinforcing the foundation of an electric pole on the 6th cross. The
Councillor promised to inform/coordinate with MESCOM and UCMC to rectify
these problems.
- The
matter of traffic congestion at the Big Boss junction due to city buses
stopping on the road was discussed, and it was suggested to shift the bus
stop board 20 feet to the west to improve the situation. The discussion
centered around the traffic congestion issue at the Big Boss junction
caused by the halting of city buses on the road. It was proposed to move
the bus stop sign to the west, at least 20 feet from its current location,
in order to alleviate the situation. Mr. Manjunath pledged to bring the
matter to the attention of relevant authorities and resolve the issue. The
topic of visiting the Karwal garbage dumping yard and the water
contamination issue at Mrs. Mable Soans' 6th Cross, suspected to be caused
by wastewater leakage from the MIT campus, was also brought up during the
discussion and will be pursued further.

The decision was made to restart the Newsletter
in both English and Kannada, with Professor Yajnesh Sharma taking the lead on
this project and providing an update at the next meeting.
- The next EC meeting was scheduled for June 18th, 2022 at 7pm at Mr. Ganapathi V. Kamath's residence on 17th Cross, 2nd Main.
